Our COVID Secure Venue: Lace Hill Community Centre

Our return to classes is getting closer, so it's time to update you all on how we're ensuring that our classes are going to be operating in the safest way possible.

We just can't wait to get back to doing what we love most!

As well as the measures below, I have attached my risk assessment, so please take a look through this. I have also completed the 'Prevention of COVID-19 in the workplace' online course.

All measures must be adhered to at all times so please read below information very carefully.

New Measures for Students and Parents:

  • Unfortunately, there will be no parents allowed to stay during class.

  • On arrival, please wait in your car/outside until class time. When it’s time for class, please queue by the fire door to the right of the main hall. There will be floor markings. Please do not enter the building until I have come to the door to let the you in. Upon pick up, please wait outside the main entrance as it has more light there. Please be on time for pick up

  • There will be a one way system in place. When class is finished, students will leave out of the opposite fire door at the other end of the hall.

  • Students are to sanitise hands on arrival and departure - there will be hand sanitiser at both doors.

  • If students feel at all unwell or are showing any COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to class.

  • Students must bring their own full water bottle.

  • Students must be changed into their kit. They cannot get changed in the centre.

  • No one other than the students are allowed to use the onsite toilets.

  • Social distancing will be adhered to, therefore we will not be doing any contact or group work.

  • On cooler days, please bring a jumper as the fire doors will be open for ventilation.

Other Extra Measures:

  • I will be cleaning all touch plates/door handles, toilets etc between classes. The centre staff are also regularly cleaning throughout the day.

  • No equipment will be shared amongst students. Any equipment used will be fully cleaned before the next set of students.

  • The hall will be well ventilated at all times.

  • I will have PPE (face mask & gloves) incase of any injuries

Working together, we can get back to our beloved classes and dance friends in the safest way possible. It is of upmost importance to me that all parents and students feel safe in their return to dance classes. The classes may be a little different, but I will be sure to work super hard in order to regain the confidence of students, settle their anxieties and help them to find their way back onto their dance journey.

I can't wait to see you all!
